This Saturday night we have "Bad" Chad dawson vs Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver. These two guys fought to a decision last October with Dawson walking away with the win. There really isn't a reason to think anything different is going to happen this weekend.
Official Prediction: Dawson for the win
Official Prediction: Over 9.5 Rounds
(Note: This fight is almost a no-brainer but with such a bad moneyline, be careful)
See you guys next week

This weekend HBO has a big Saturday night planned for us. With the new Thrilla in Manilla special, Pacquiao-Hatton 24/7, and two big fights, we sholud have a full night. As for the fights, we have American Heavyweight prospect Chris Arreola (26-0) vs Jameel McCline (39-9-3.) Arreola is our best hope for an American Heavyweight champ. He is not ready for someone along the lines of a Klitshcko brother, but he is climbing the ranks nicely. Arreola should handle McCline this Saturday.
Official Prediction: Arreola for the win
The big fight of the night is Paul Williams (36-1) vs Winky Wright (51-4-1.)
Both of these guys are two of the most avoided fighters out there today. Paul Williams is an accurate volume puncher with a high work rate. Winky Wright has an unorthodox defense and is a great counter puncher. Paul Williams had a TKO victory back in November. Winky Wright has not fought since he lost to Bernard Hopkins a year and a half ago. This should be close but Paul Williams can probably take it on points.
Official Predicition: Williams for the win

We have a pretty big weekend coming up. First fight is Timothy Bradley (23-0-0) vs Kendall Holt (25-2-0.) Timothy Bradley will more than likely win this, but with both fighters having a less than 50% KO percentage, bet on the over. Not the most attractive bet at 11.5 rounds, but this will probably go to a decision.
Official Prediction: Over 11.5 rounds
Next up is Alexander Povetkin (16-0-0) vs Jason Estarda (13-0-0.) The Povetkin moneyline is not that great, but he has to much power for Estrada.
Official Prediction: Povetkin for the win
Finally we have the powerhouse of Edwin Valero vs Antonio Pitalua. Valero is as exciting to watch as any fighter today. With a 100% KO percentage he should lay a beating on Pitalua. Someone will eventually expose Valero because of his chaotic style and odd defense, but not this weekend.
Official Prediction: Valero for the win
March 25, 2009
The fight of the week should be Julio Cesar Chavez Jr(38-0-0) vs Luciano Cuello(23-0-0). Chavez has looked great in all of his fights over the past few years. Cuello is another undefeated fighter but only has a 43% KO percentage. Expect big things from Chavez in the future. As for this weekend, Chavez should win this pretty easily. There are no moneylines up for this fight yet. They will probably be up Friday or early Saturday.
Official Prediction: Chavez Jr for the win

Wow! This past weekend was awesome. Congratulations to anyone that won some money on the Amir Khan fight. This weekend doesn't seem too awfully exciting, but we will have new picks up by Wednesday.

This weekend we have "King" Arthur Abraham (28-0-0) vs Lajuan Simon (21-0-2). The moneyline on this fight is terrible. -5000 on Abraham is way too expensive, but at the same time, this should be an easy win for him. That does mean easy money for us, but do not expect to win much. Probably a silly bet to make considering a $40 wager will only win $.08. But for those who don't care about that, good luck.
Official Prediction: Abraham for the win.
Our next fight is the hot prospect Amir Khan (19-1-0) vs Marco Antonio Barrera (65-6-0). This fight is really tricky to call. Amir is faster and bigger, but has a questionable chin. Barrera has only been knocked twice in 71 fights and has heavy hands but is 35 years old. The biggest thing to think about here is if Barrera can get to Khan and connect with his chin. Khan's gameplan should be to stay away from Barrera and use his speed to outbox him. That being said, the choice comes down to Khan being faster, bigger, stronger, and 13 years younger. This will be a good fight to watch.
Official Prediction: Khan for the win

Another good week for us. Congratulations to those who followed our picks this past weekend. This coming weekend should be just as exciting. We have a fight between the prodigy Amir Khan and veteran warrior Marco Antonio Barrera. We also have "King" Arthur Abraham vs. Lajuan Simon. New picks will be up by Wednesday.

Huge weekend coming up. UFC 96 is only a couple of days away. This card has a couple of exciting fights and a couple that will probably be snooze fests.
MMA fights are always hard to pick because they can be such a coin toss, but here are picks we feel pretty confident about.
Shane Carwin vs. Gabriel Gonzaga. Gonzaga is as dangerous on the ground as anyone and showed some striking power against Cro Cop. Carwin is undefeated but hasn't been tested against the big names yet. Right now the moneyline on Carwin is +145. This is a good bet since there is such a good chance of an upset.
Official Prediction: Carwin for the win. (Note: Don't bet more than 2% of your bankroll.)
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Keith Jardine. Jardine has some notable wins along with some notable losses. He did knock out The Iceman but repeating that against Rampage seems unlikely. Rampage's moneyline is -350. A little expensive but probably still a good bet.
Official Prediction: Jackson for the win (Note: Don't bet more than 2% of your bankroll.)

So far, so good for us here at Expert Fight Picks. Our first week prediction was right and hopefully we can continue that trend. This week is huge with UFC 96 coming up on Saturday. New picks will be up by Wednesday.

This week's big fight comes in the way of Juan Manuel Marquez (49-4-1) vs. Juan Diaz (34-1-0). The nice bonus about this one is that it is coming for free on HBO. Marquez is hot off of his win over Joel Casamayor. Juan Diaz is coming off of a split decision over Michael Katsidis. This will be interesting on a couple of levels. My main consideration is Marquez's ring experience versus Diaz's hunger. Diaz has one of the most ferocious styles today. Marquez has been in his share of wars most notably with Manny Pacquiao. Expect some fireworks this Saturday. The betus.com moneyline has Marquez at -160. Not too overpriced. Bet on this one conservatively.
Official Prediction: Marquez for the win
